Terms of Use
Effective date: 7 September 2026
1. Who we are
WHERE THIS WKND ("we", "us", "our") operates a nightlife and weekend event discovery service for Hong Kong through our website at wherethiswknd.com and the WKND app for iPhone (together, the "Platform").
2. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the Platform you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. When you create an account you must give your real date of birth. We may suspend or delete an account if we reasonably believe the holder is under 18. Venues and organisers set their own entry rules, including ID checks; an event appearing on the Platform does not mean you will be admitted.
4. Accounts
You sign in with your mobile phone number and a one-time code sent by SMS. Your carrier's messaging charges may apply.
- Keep your phone and sign-in codes private. Never share a code with anyone, including people claiming to work for us.
- One account per person. Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at hello@wherethiswknd.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account). Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 14 days, during which you can sign in to cancel.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- Impersonate any person or organiser, or use a display name or photo that is misleading, offensive or infringes someone else's rights.
- Post or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, harassing or infringes any third-party rights.
- Circumvent age, security or access controls, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, crawl or use automated means to extract data from the Platform without our prior written consent.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation or other users' enjoyment of it.
- Submit false or abusive reports.
6. Event information
Events, line-ups, times, prices and venues shown on the Platform are supplied by organisers, venues and artists, or compiled from their own public announcements such as websites, social media and ticketing pages. We publish this information to help you discover events and, where possible, link to the source.
We do not organise, host or control any event, and we do not currently sell tickets. Details can change without notice; confirm with the organiser before you travel or pay. We are not responsible for the accuracy of event information, for an event being cancelled or changed, for the quality or safety of an event, or for any dispute between you and an organiser, venue or ticket seller.
Ticket links take you to third-party sellers. Their terms and prices apply to any purchase.
7. Third-party content and removal requests
Event artwork, photographs, logos, biographies and descriptions remain the property of their owners. We display them to identify and describe the events, organisers, venues and artists concerned, and we remove or correct them on request.
If you own rights in content shown on the Platform and want it removed or changed, or believe content infringes your rights, email hello@wherethiswknd.com with:
- a link to the content on the Platform;
- a description of the work and of your rights in it;
- your name and contact details; and
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised.
We review every notice promptly and will remove or disable access to the content where appropriate. We may pass your notice to the person who supplied the content. Organisers, venues and artists can also ask us at any time to update or remove their listing or profile.
8. Our intellectual property
The WHERE THIS WKND and WKND names and logos, and the Platform's software, design, editorial copy, translations and compilations of event information, are owned by or licensed to us. You may use the Platform for personal, non-commercial event discovery. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from or commercially exploit the Platform or its content without our prior written consent, except for content you own or to the extent Hong Kong law allows.
9. Your content
Your display name, profile photo, reports and any other content you submit are your content. You confirm that you have the right to use them and that they comply with section 5. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display and process your content in order to operate the Platform, including showing your display name, photo and activity to members you have chosen to share with. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal or moderation reasons. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.
10. Music previews
Music previews are streamed from Apple Music and SoundCloud under their own terms. Apple Music playback requires an active Apple Music subscription. We do not host, own or control the music, and availability varies by region.
11. Third-party services and links
The Platform links to or opens third-party services such as ticket sellers, maps, ride-hailing apps, social media and music services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms and privacy policies.
12. Reporting and moderation
You can report an event, organiser or artist from within the app. We review reports, may remove or amend content, and may warn, suspend or terminate accounts. We are not obliged to act on every report, and we keep reporters' identities confidential.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, about the Platform's reliability, availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose, or about any event listed on it.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform, any event listed on it, or any third-party service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Hong Kong law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if you breach these Terms or act in a way we reasonably believe is harmful to the Platform, other users, organisers or us. You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time.
16. App Store
The WKND app is distributed through the Apple App Store. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for the app, its content or any claim relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You may use the app only on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
